One-off and Rotational NFTs

Throwing around NFTs is a great way to make them worthless.

In Hangman, NFTs will be awarded on a consistent basis, which helps control value inflation. Additionally, steps have been taken when authoring the smart contract to prevent any entity (including us) from casually minting additional NFTs outside of the scheduled updates (looking at you, ).

One-off NFTs are minted and awarded as leaderboard rewards. That is, the top segment of users on the leaderboard (typically the top 10) are awarded a leaderboard NFT. These are standards-compliant (ERC-1155) NFTs that may be viewed, bought, and sold at secondary marketplaces like OpenSea.

Rotational NFTs are a tad different. Rotational NFTs behave more like the : they are owned by the most recent leaderboard leaders. While they behave much like typical NFTs, they cannot be bought or sold -- only awarded. Upon completion of a leaderboard's duration, ownership of these NFTs is moved to the new leaders. Additional rewards may be awarded, on-chain, for back-to-back rotational NFT wins.
